The Fifth Annual Hoquiam Half Marathon will be held on July 8, 2017 in Hoquiam! We are adding a 10K race to the event this year as well as the Half Marathon and 5K that we have always had. The 13.1 course has been designed to allow for beginning marathoners to enter as well as still provide a challenge for experienced marathoners. The course is mainly paved with small sections of gravel and sidewalk areas, some hills and elevation are included. The course traverses through some residential areas of Hoquiam but also in rural/scenic areas of Hoquiam from the Bay to the rivers.

A very limited amount of shirts will be available on race day so reserve your shirt with your pre-registration. Cost for pre-registration is $25.00 for the half marathon and $15.00 for the 10K and 5K race. Day of race registrations will be $30 for the half marathon $20.00 for 10K and 5K.
Registrations on the day of the race will begin at 7:00 at Hoquiam City Hall, 609 8th St. Hoquiam. Registrations will be accepted until 8:30 – the races will start at 9:00 at the corner of 8th and L Street. Prizes will be awarded in each age group as well as finisher medals for all who complete the half marathon race.
The course will include water stops as follows:
- Water and restroom facilities at the beginning of the course.
- Water and restroom facilities at Emerson Grade School – runners will be able to utilize this aid stop going out the course and coming back on the course
- Water at 101/109 Spur corner (which can be accessed going out and coming back);
- Water and restroom facilities at finish line.
Enjoy a day of fun from the beginning of registration to the awards ceremony. All participants will receive runner bags filled with fun things and specials to local area businesses, as well as a host of fruit, granola bars and water at the finish. We will have aid available throughout the race with the Crime Watch traversing the course in case runners need assistance.
